informative ads

the worst ad...which keeps replaying non-stop...is in my opinon, the "are you ready for a flu pandemic?"

it has me n my flatmates stare at each other n go...WHAT THE HELL

we are supposed to have food supplies for a month.

we are the type who goes groccery shopping ONCE A WEEK.

we use it as an excuse to get out of the house.

winter

yes..the winter is here...it became surprisingly early this year though...round about mid MAY.

the sad thing is that my flat is on a save electricity scheme. So NO HEATERS. ^^

I can see my breath for a good 3 days in a row now, while I am indoors in my flat. Anyone in a cold country will tell you that there is a sign of FREEZING temperatures.

anyhow...I have watched Andrew Llyod Webber's Starlight Express (for free...muahahahaha)and I really love the music! The plot lost me a bit though. This was how close i was to the tracks:

yup I was sitting RIGHT IN FRONT of them! ^^ I went with my flatmate to see the charity preview of it. And to satisfy dear Amanda's craving to see photos, here is a LOUSY shot of me and her:

CRAP I LOOK UGLY!!!! Amanda...only for you am I putting this photo here!

And the nice flat photo taken when we are all in our usual state in the flat - our pjs! Well, this was taken coz one of my flatmates is an exchange student and she was leaving on this day itself in about 5 mins after this photo was snapped. I have AWESOME timing. ^^ Ok fine...it is because I can't be bothered to take any pics until necessary.

DSC00963

yes, my hair has not been combed and is sticking out. I just woke up! >.<

anyhow...I shall ambush my study group friends one day n snap a pic with them..soon...

oh yes, I have watched transformers 2. I WANT THE POSTER!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

that is about it...I prefer the 1st movie to the 2nd. ^^

that is all...i shall return to my warm nest of blankets for now.

burnt

today...i triggered off the fire alarm....THREE TIMES.

in my defence...it was only the flat's alarm...and it was the warning tones (that which goes *BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!*)

how?

i was baking wedges...tasted GOOD!

oh...just a couple of days ago...i managed to screw up stew too!

i have no culinary talent.

why 'apples' can mean 'pears' in law

if anything at all...I have learnt not to take anything at face level.

" 'glory' doesn't mean 'a nice knock-down argument" Through the Looking Glass, chp 6.

Alice and Humpty Dumpty were agreed that the word 'glory' did not mean 'a nice knock-down argument.' Anyone with a dictionary could see that. Humpty Dumpty's point was that 'a nice knock-down argument' was what he meant by using the word 'glory'. He very fairly acknowledged that Alice, as a reasonable young woman, could not have realised this until he told her, but once he had told her, or if, without being expressly told, she could have inferred it from the background, she would have had no diffuculty in understanding what he meant.

Investors Compensation Scheme Ltd v West Bromwich Building Society [1998] WLR 896, 912-913. (Lord Hoffmann)

now, where is my copy of Through the Looking Glass? =P

Never ever underestimate the power of children's classics.
